Hip and trendy Berlin is an energetic destination. Besides a great food and nightlife scene, there is a wonderful beach, tons of Gaudi architecture (including the iconic Sagrada Familia, which has been under construction for over 100 years!), incredible food tours, one of the best history museums in the country, and lots of outdoor spaces. Be prepared for late-night dinners and parties until dawn. It truly could give NYC a run for the “city that never sleeps” title. Hang out in Barcelonaīarcelona is a city that goes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Be sure you get out of the center into Jordaan and Oost with their wonderful outdoor cafes and fewer tourists. Amsterdam has a vibrant art and music scene and there’s a ton of museums like the Anne Frank house, FOAM, the history museum, and the hemp museum. ![]() Here cobblestone and brick streets weave around lovely canals as people ride their bikes to and fro. I love Amsterdam so much that I lived here for a short period of time in 2006. For winter visits, expect to pay at least 75 EUR per day for a lift pass to ski/snowboard. For a popular multi-day hike, check out the Tour du Mont Blanc, an epic 7-11 day hike through France, Italy, and Switzerland. The alps are great whether you’re in Italy, France, or Switzerland - you can’t go wrong no matter where you go as they are one of the greatest natural attractions on the continent. Whether you go skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer, the Alps hold some of the most breathtaking views in all the world. Crisscross the continent, take in the culture, and enjoy all the historic cities! 5. Some of my personal favorites and must see cities are: London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Barcelona, Lisbon, Prague, Tallin, Florence, and Stockholm. There are so many amazing cities in Europe that we’d need a top 100 to list them all. It would take years to see everything here, but you can get a good feel of the city in a few days. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the history it’s hard not to see the magic. It’s a place that exudes culture, sophistication, class, and style. Poets, artists, playwrights, writers, journalists, and more have all written about their love of this city. I fell in love with it the first time I stepped foot in Paris. The city of lights is everything people say it is. Riding the European rails is one of the best ways to get around and see the continent on a budget. The Eurail Global Pass covers travel in 33 countries around Europe, including night trains, making it entirely possible to travel all of Europe without a single flight. Rail passes like the Eurail pass make it easy to get from country to country on a relatively small budget (and with lots of flexibility). Ride the railsĮurope is famous for its international rail system. With hundreds of islands, you can always find what you are looking for! 2. The island of Ios is party central, Kos and Crete are popular destinations for Brits, Santorini has history, Mykonos has luxurious, and Naxos is quiet.
